A word of welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering and Building (DCEB) of the Vaal University of Technology. At DCEB, we pride ourselves in delivering world-class trained graduates who are focused, result oriented, and solution providers that contribute to the development and maintenance of civil engineering infrastructure locally, regionally, and internationally. As one of the four (4) departments of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the Vaal University of Technology, the Department of Civil Engineering & Building focuses its teaching and learning, research, and community engagement and partnership activities on bringing contemporary, relevant, and competitive knowledge to industry, education, and society.

The Department of Civil Engineering and Building is one of the few Universities of Technology in South Africa that offers a one-stop shop set of programmes that offer coherent pathways to educational benchmarks identified for professional registration as engineering technicians and technologists by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Our programmes are accredited by statutory and professional bodies at both national and international levels either directly or through internationally recognised affiliations.
